2024 Subaru Legacy, Review, Price, Release Date

Subaru has recently introduced a fully redesigned Legacy for the 2023 model year, and we anticipate the 2024 model to remain largely unchanged. The current Legacy boasts a sleek and sophisticated exterior design, with slender headlights, a rectangular grille, smooth lines, and a neat front air intake. A pronounced body line connects the front and rear lights, while the back of the roofline has a more noticeable slope. The back of the vehicle features wrap-around taillights that are joined by a horizontal bar and a squared-off rear bumper that protrudes from the back end.

The interior of the current Legacy shares a similar look to other Subaru models. The multi-level dashboard features a wide, flat section that gradually rises to accommodate the instrument cluster, while the touchscreen is positioned on top of the dashboard but is situated closer to the front for easier driver access. Standard features include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth connectivity, and multiple USB ports. Higher trims offer a larger touchscreen, wireless connectivity, and a wireless charging pad. Although the Subaru Legacy is a solid and well-rounded car, it could not provide the same degree of driving enjoyment as the Honda Accord, which is a standard feature.

The base Subaru Legacy comes with a 2.5-liter horizontally opposed four-cylinder engine that delivers 182 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque, while higher trims come with a turbocharged 2.4-liter engine that produces 260 horsepower and 277 pound feet of torque. Both engines come with a continuously variable automatic transmission, and all-wheel drive is standard on every Legacy.

The Subaru Legacy comes standard with a range of advanced safety features, including Subaru’s EyeSight driver-assist suite. This suite includes automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, lane keeping assist, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist, traffic sign recognition, and blind spot monitoring. Rear cross-traffic alert and low-speed braking control are available as options.

Summary

We anticipate the 2024 Subaru Legacy to remain largely unchanged from the 2023 model year and will release in the fall of 2023. This sedan features a refined exterior design and a practical, user-friendly interior. Standard features include smartphone integration and advanced driver-assist features, and every model comes equipped with an all-wheel drive. Two engine options are available, and we expect the same safety features to be carried over from the previous model year.
